Photos April 2015 - I went hiking in the Guadalupe Mountain region of West Texas. The highest point in the Lone Star State is Guadalupe Peak,
elevation 8751 feet. While I've reached the summit before, on this visit I simply enjoyed the scenery throughout. Here's a few shots of the cacti around the park.
Pretty yellow ends on this walking stick cactus variety.
A hardy purple cactus grows on top of a rock.
Lots of pretty mountain and desert scenery.
Always watch your step while hiking in the desert. I'd think landing on this one would be especially nasty!
