Arizona Desert Photos
(Rincon Mountain Region and Saguaro National Park East - September 20, 2008)
I went out in the Rincon Mountains east of Tucson this morning.
The desert floor.
At the base of the Rincon Mountains.
Two attractive saguaros.
More views from the trail I was on.
The wild blooms were doing well after a lengthy monsoon season. It only rained once this week. You might have to go back to 1983 to tie that!
Life was everywhere. Sorry, no reptiles or mammals this time, only insects! :-D
Photograph these is one of my hang ups. I love seeing new saguaro arms sprouting!
Pay attention out there. The Sonoran Desert is never a Disneyland.
A very fat and misshappened Mammillaria.
I fear these are the last wild blooms of the season! March is a ways away!
New cholla from deadwood.
Autumn in Tucson: The changing of the ocotillo leaves.
It never ceases to amaze me where saguaros can grow!
